According to reports, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched an investigation into the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on May 6th local time.
Previously, Boeing stated that it had learned that several employees had not completed necessary safety checks to confirm whether there was sufficient bonding and grounding at the connection between the wings and fuselage of certain 787 Dreamliner aircraft. This violates company policy.
The FAA stated that it is investigating whether Boeing has completed inspections and whether its employees have falsified aircraft records.
Affected by the news, Boeing's stock price plummeted in the short term during the US stock market last night, dropping nearly 3% at one point.
Multiple technical malfunctions discovered
Frequent accidents have occurred, and the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States has taken consecutive actions.
On March 15th local time, Boeing stated that it recommended airlines to check the cockpit seat switches when repairing Boeing 787 aircraft, and provided a guide on how to turn off the seat switch power.
Boeing stated that this suggestion is only a preventive measure, but the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States stated that the suggestion is aimed at the accident that occurred on the Boeing 787 aircraft on the 11th, and they are convening an expert group to review Boeing's recommendation information.
According to reports, on March 11th, a Boeing 787-9 aircraft of Latham Airlines, headquartered in Chile, experienced a "technical malfunction" during flight, causing severe shaking of the fuselage and resulting in multiple injuries.
Moving forward, on February 8th, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States officially requested an inspection of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to check for loose bolts in the aircraft's rudder control system.
Last December, Boeing discovered a rudder bolt with a missing nut during routine maintenance at an international operator, and subsequently recommended inspection. At the same time, Boeing also discovered that a nut on an undelivered aircraft was not properly tightened.
Frequent accidents
Recently, various models of Boeing aircraft in the United States have experienced frequent safety accidents.
Southwest Airlines reported on April 5th that its Boeing 737-800 aircraft had to cancel its flight due to engine fire on April 4th, but fortunately no one was injured. The report states that the aircraft's flight number is 1928 and was originally scheduled to take off from Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport in Texas, United States. After receiving a prompt stating that there may be a problem with the engine, the crew safely stopped takeoff.
On March 15th, a United Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft found a missing panel on the outside of its fuselage after landing.
On March 4th, a United Airlines Boeing 737 aircraft was forced to return shortly after takeoff due to engine fire.
On February 20th, United Airlines confirmed to local media that a Boeing 757-200 aircraft operating a flight from San Francisco to Boston made an emergency landing midway on the 19th due to wing damage. There were 165 passengers at the time of the incident, and no casualties were caused.
On January 5th, shortly after takeoff, a Boeing 737 MAX 9 passenger plane of Alaska Airlines in the United States had a door plug (embedded emergency door) on the side of the cabin come off.
