국제 유가가 큰 폭으로 하락하면서 WTI 원유는 일내에 5% 폭락하여 배럴당 70달러 부근으로 떨어졌다.국제에너지기구는 세계 석유 수요의 증가가 대폭 둔화되었다고 밝혔다.
