On May 8th, General Motors announced that Steve Hill, the current Vice President of Global Business Operations, will be appointed as Senior Vice President of General Motors Global and President of General Motors China. Meanwhile, the current President of General Motors China, Bo Li, will officially retire.
"Bai Li has always focused on product, technological competitiveness, and partnership, laying an important foundation for General Motors to continue consolidating our achievements and future development in China for 27 years. Steve has profound business operation experience and is highly concerned about users. He will accelerate the electrification of our product portfolio in China and fully utilize the opportunities brought by new technology applications," said Rory Harvey, Executive Vice President and Global Marketing President of General Motors.
According to publicly available information, Steve is a global marketing expert at General Motors, having held important positions including Vice President of Sales, Service, and Marketing in the United States, and Vice President of Global Customer Service and After Sales. He will take over full responsibility for General Motors' business in China from June 1st, taking over from Bai Li.
"I am looking forward to this new role, where I can use my experience to establish strong relationships with partners to drive sales and create new purchasing and ownership experiences for our customers in one of the most competitive markets in the world." Steve said.
