On April 2nd, the reporter learned that Alibaba Cloud is fully promoting AI programming internally, using Tongyi Lingcode to assist programmers in writing code, reading code, checking bugs, optimizing code, and so on. Alibaba Cloud has also assigned a formal employee ID to Tongyi Lingcode - AI001. An Alibaba Cloud insider revealed, "In the future, 20% of the company's code will be written by Tongyi Lingcode, but programmers will still be the core of research and development, and they will have more time to focus on system design and core business development work."
Under the traditional development model, programmers need to spend a lot of energy every day writing repetitive code, debugging and optimizing, writing code comments and other basic work, which greatly squeezes the time for writing core business code. Within Alibaba Cloud, Tongyi Lingcode has taken on the role of code assistant in various development stages. Taking API development and testing work as an example, Tongyi Lingcode can reduce tens of minutes of manual testing time to seconds, saving programmers over 70% of testing code workload. Next, Alibaba Cloud will fully configure the Tongyi Lingcode plugin in internal development tools such as JetBrains IDEs and Visual Studio Code for all employees to use.
AI programming tools are breaking the boundaries of programming languages, allowing Java programmers to easily write code for different programming languages such as Python and C. At present, Tongyi Lingcode has become proficient in over 200 programming languages, including Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, C/C++, C #, and more. Tongyi Lingcode was jointly developed by Alibaba Cloud and Tongyi Laboratory, and currently has over 2 million downloads.
