On February 29th, Deutsche Hotels Group (DH), a well-known European hotel company founded in Germany, officially changed its name to Huazhu International, helping its parent company Huazhu Group promote the development of its overseas business.
It is understood that all brands under Huazhu International will join the global membership rights and online booking platform of Huazhu Club. Currently, the brand family includes eight hotels, including the Scherberg Grand View Hotel, Scherberg Porsche Design Hotel, Scherberg Resort Hotel, and intercity hotels. As the fastest-growing mid-range hotel brand of Huazhu Group in China, all season hotels will also become its new members.
Jin Hui, CEO of Huazhu Group, stated:
With the official renaming of Deutsche Hotel Group to Huazhu International, it will open a new chapter in the internationalization strategy of Huazhu and become the growth engine of the group in markets outside of China. This is also an important step towards becoming a world-class hotel group and building a global team.
The renamed Huazhu International will be led by Oliver Bonke as its CEO, along with the former executive team of Deutsche Hotel Group, to expand the company's development. While expanding all distinctive brands to important global markets, it will also expand to more destinations and provide a wider range of brand choices for 218 million Huazhu members.
The renamed Huazhu International also announced the signing of five new projects. With the signing of the new project, not only will it help Huazhu expand its market in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, India Africa, and Europe regions, but it is also expected to welcome the opening of multiple hotels in multiple overseas regions in the next two to three years.
